The simple TRUTH that I need to trust God with EVERYTHING is something I have to continuously remind myself. My flesh, my pride, my sinful nature want to say, "I can do everything on my own. I can do life – on my own." This is a LIE.
Since deciding to go on The World Race in November and telling others about it, I've become accustomed to a few different reactions…There are those who are suprised or excited for me, others think that I'm crazy, but I can't tell you how many times I've heard the reaction, "I wish I could do something like that" or "I would love to do something like that but…"
If an opportunity like The World Race appeals to you in any way, let me be brutally honest and refute the LIE you have been told or are telling yourself.
YOUR LIFE CARRIES GREAT PURPOSE.
YOU WERE BORN TO GLORIFY YOUR CREATOR.
TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF YOURSELF AND YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
ASK GOD HOW HE WANTS TO USE YOU WHILE YOU ARE ALIVE ON THE EARTH.
OBEY WHERE HE LEADS.
Don't immediately cast off the idea that you were called to something great simply because you don't see the means or the way for it to happen. We serve a BIG God and it's dishonoring when we doubt we He CAN do.
I'm not saying that everyone is called to do The World Race; That is certainly not the case.
What I am saying is to take a clearer look at the direction your life is headed. Are you living for yourself or are you TRULY surrendering to God's will for your life?
When I applied and was accepted to the Race in the fall of 2010, I had $0 to my name after making the initial deposit. I didn't have any property or assests and was making minimum wage at the local movie theater. I didn't make my first payment and didn't recieve my first donation until February 2011. Since then, in less than three months, God has MIRACULOUSLY blessed me with $9,060 and a second job.
It was not me providing funds by my means. It was GOD providing funds by His means.
Where God calls, He provides. We simply need to obey.
