I had the opportunity to hear great message a few Sundays ago. The pastor talked about how there are two kinds of church and/or two kinds of Christians working in a community. He said we all have one mission, but there is always two ways to go about that mission. There is the person who is the messenger of the Gospel and the person who is the neighbor of the Gospel. The messenger uses the knowledge of the written word to help others, while the neighbor serves the people with his own hands. One is more conservative while the other is a bit more hands on.

While listening to this I began to think what one of the two categories I was. Did I talk more about the Gospel to people, or am I more of a friend to people? I decided that I was the "neighborly type". I love to befriend and give a helping hand, but when it comes to asking a person if they know Jesus I have a real hard time.

The pastor said we need to combine these two traits in order to share Gods love and the Gospel effectively.

Be a messenger of the Gospel as well as a neighbor of the Gospel.
