Halfway in Nicaragua

The power is going off and on here in town and though I was planning to write a much better blog, I want to get out a quick update out before the power goes out again. I hope to blog again this week and share a few of the amazing stories of what God has been doing here on Ometepe Island.

Last week, our team split for the week and I took nine of the girls to the other side of the island to the town of Balgüe while Kayla took either of them to the mainland to Rivas.

Those of us who went to Balgüe served the local church there by getting the construction of a kitchen underway, cleaning, evangelizing and ministering to the church. We were the first missionaries to go to that area and they were very excited and blessed by our help. We were also encouraged and uplifted by the faith of the small church community. We saw salvation, healing and encouragement.

Please pray for that church in Balgüe as it is experiencing opposition and dissension.

The enemy knows that God has big plans for the believers of Balgüe and the church is growing so he is trying to do anything he can to get in the way.

This week, we are back at the orphanage CICRIN helping with the construction of a cafeteria for the local elementary school, gardening, cooking and cleaning. There is so much to do at the orphanage, and I am so glad that we are a real help and blessing to them. Since we have been back from Balgüe, the children have opened up even more to us and it's feeling more and more like home.

Our team is experiencing some weariness. Quite a few people have been experiencing general travel sickness and colds. We've almost hit halfway.

Prayers for joy, energy and perserverance are much appreciate as well as continued unity and vulnerability within the team.

Thank you for all of your prayers and support.

I'm still in need of about $1,000 to be fully funded, which is due tomorrow. I have no idea where the money will come from but I'm praying and knowing the Lord will provide for all of my needs. If I do not get all of the money in, I will have to spend less time with my team and more time coming into town trying to fundraise from the field. This will take away from my ministry to the orphanage and to the ladies I'm leading.

Please prayerfully consider donating, and sharing this with others.
