Hello all! We've officially made it to Asia! We're still adjusting to no longer being in the African culture…no longer the only white people, no longer being called mzungu & suddenly being surrounded by western amenities…like Mcdonald's, malls, grocercy stores, movie theaters, etc… I miss Afrcia, but the change of scenery and culture is welcomed.

After 6 days of travel including 5 countries, 4 airports, 3 flights, 2 continents and a 24-hour layover in the Bangkok airport we arrived in Manila, Philippines on Friday evening. Up until 2 days before flying out, we still didn't know whether or not we'd be heading to Thailand or not. Unfortunately, due to the flooding, we are not able to do ministry there this month, but it's possible that we will be going there later on. So…we've been re-routed and our first country in Asia is The Philippines. We are very grateful that Kids International Ministries (KIM) have been able to receive, accomodate and put 46 of us racers to work on such short notice. Four teams are staying here at the same place in Manila and two teams are flying out tonight to Malaybalay, Mindanao. Please be praying for both us and the other teams. We're doing some intense ministry here and the two teams going to Malaybalay are doing the same, but on an island that is 90% muslim.

Here are my new teammates…check them out, blog stalk them and show them some love.

I've also been newly made the finance person. Please pray for my whole team (and squad) as we're getting to know eachother, learning how to work with completely new people in a team dynamic and the new roles we're taking on and as we're stepping into a new month of minstry!

Love you & will update again soon! 🙂

  1. Very interesting, detailed article. God has placed you in a field for even further growth in His love and grace. Prayers are with you, your team and the entire squad of racers.
