So You’re Still in Georgia?

Fall is finally here, and now that my year interning in the CGA with Adventures is over, I’ve had people ask, “what are you still doing in Georgia?”

Well let me recap summer by saying that trip leading to Nicaragua was an incredible experience. It wasn’t perfect by any means, and went nothing like I thought it would, but I am so thankful for those two months I spent with some amazing people in such a beautiful place.

Over the last nine months I have stepped into leadership in many different ways. First, through administrating the first semester of the Worship Track of CGA, January-May. Second, through leading to Nicaragua this summer. And now, I have accepted a position and started on staff at Adventures helping to administrate, develop and facilitate the Worship Track program.

One thing I’m finding is that leadership brings your strengths and weaknesses to light quickly. It’s not always comfortable, and is stretching at times, but I’m learning how to operate in my strengths and not be afraid to reach out for help in areas of weakness—to be confident in the woman God created me to be.

I’m so grateful to be involved in an organization that cares more about who I am becoming than what I am doing and for the opportunities that I’ve been given in the last few years. I am constantly taken aback by the caliber of people and leadership I’m surrounded by—not only at Adventures, but in my local church, community, Georgia, etc.

So what does this next “season” look like?

I am on staff at Adventures and committed to administrate, develop and facilitate the Worship Track until December.

What is the Worship Track?

“The Worship Track is a community within the CGA [Adventures’ Intern & Discipleship Program] for those committed to cultivating a lifestyle of worship and intercession as sons and daughters of the Father. This goes beyond corporate times of praise and worship, and extends to all aspects of life. In the Worship Track, you’ll be pushed to step into your God-given authority to bring kingdom. You’ll be challenged to listen and respond to what the Holy Spirit is saying.”

Savannah Rowland and I are under the leadership of Adventures’ Worship and Creative Arts Director, Josh Rene. We’ve got a group of about fifteen World Race Alumni who just arrived and as the worship track, we’ll be exploring what it looks like to worship in every aspect of life—not just the times of corporate worship. We’re about developing a lifestyle of worship.

In addition to the Worship Track, I am working a part-time CNA job, being mentored, and am a “community developer” for the new interns.

I’m continuing to figure out what my gifts and strengths are and “finding my call.” I meet with a mentor regularly who is helping me process life, encouraging me to explore my passions, discern what the Lord is saying and catch some vision and traction for the future.

I am excited and expectant that the Lord is going to do great and new things over the next four months!
